About

Birch Green ABC is a constituted Amateur Boxing Club which places the community at the heart of everything we do. The club provides a warm welcome for anyone wishing to access non-contact / contact boxing and fitness training - led by qualified and experienced coaches.

We believe passionately that boxing is a driver for behavioural change and can have a positive impact across the community to: enable positive health and well-being choices, improve self-esteem, build and develop confidence and to create key lifestyle outcomes for young people.

Building on our proud heritage of over 40 years as a community boxing club, participation in our club activities can offer:

• Activities to Increase confidence, self-esteem, health and well-being.
• An important role in promoting positive reinforcement and perceptions of young people in Skelmersdale
• Help to prevent and reduce ASB and help make our streets safer.
• Close work with our community partners, schools and other agencies on cross cutting themed projects including; the reduction of ASB, increasing personal health and well-being and positive peer messaging.

The club has 6 qualified England Boxing qualified coaches, a dedicated Safeguarding Officer and first aid responders. All our coaches are DBS checked.

West Lancashire Council for Voluntary Services is a charity, set up in 1973, and is the key infrastructure organisation for voluntary and community groups in West Lancashire.
