About

Friends of Tawd Valley (FoTV) is a community group run by volunteers who passionate about the nature and wildlife they have on their doorstep.
The aim of the friends group is to promote and increase the use of the natural asset of Tawd Valley Park in Skelmersdale to support the health and well-being of the community.
We undertake work and projects to improve and protect the Tawd Valley Park and encourage community participation in a range of activities and events for improved physical and mental health and well being.
We run monthly volunteer sessions for people of all ages and abilities, plus every Friday morning as part of Team Tawd. We work with WLBC Rangers undertaking repairing, building and maintenance of footpaths, riverbanks, woodlands and communal areas in the valley.

West Lancashire Council for Voluntary Services is a charity, set up in 1973, and is the key infrastructure organisation for voluntary and community groups in West Lancashire.

We help local people set up and develop voluntary and community groups, and network with other organisations.

We recruit volunteers for local organisations and support people to volunteer through our accredited Volunteer Centre. Find out more here.
