Hesketh Bank and Tarleton Helpers

About

We are a volunteer led charity, aiming to improve life for local residents in Tarelton and Hesketh Bank, in any way we can.

We run a popular Community Cafe in Hesketh Bank Community Centre every Friday, serving a three course meal to in return for a donation from those who can afford it. The Café is run entirely by volunteers using donated food, and everyone is welcome.

We also have a face to face befriending service for older people, which is in high demand. At present, we are only in a position to accept referrals from Tarleton and Hesketh Bank. However, we also operate or are involved with a number of social groups which benefit local people who are lonely or socially isolated.

From 20th September 2023, the Helpers together with Carousel Music and Movement will hold a Memory Loss Singing and Social Group at Tarleton Methodist Church from 11am-12.30pm each Wednesday. This will be of particular benefit to people living with memory loss and those who care for them. Free and no need to book.

We support a small Foodbank operated by one of our Trustees, and are working in partnership with other organisations to bring a weekly Food Pantry to Tarleton, to help those finding it difficult to cope with rising food costs.
