About

Jigsaw MEPT (Mawdesley Equine & People Trust) was established in 2001 by Sue and Tim Carr on a 20 acre, eco-friendly site. As well as providing facilities and activities for the public in care, riding and welfare of horses and ponies, the charity also provides good quality care for horses and ponies that would otherwise be put to sleep.

Training facilities include an outdoor training area, and a mechanical horse which provides an innovative and unique training opportunity.

Jigsaw offers a relaxed and calm atmosphere where people can learn about horses and nature in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

West Lancashire Council for Voluntary Services is a charity, set up in 1973, and is the key infrastructure organisation for voluntary and community groups in West Lancashire.

We help local people set up and develop voluntary and community groups, and network with other organisations.

We recruit volunteers for local organisations and support people to volunteer through our accredited Volunteer Centre. Find out more here.
