Purple Umbrella

About

Purple Umbrella provides activities for people who receive one-to-one support. Groups are small and informal so that everyone, regardless of ability, can be fully involved. Staff and family members benefit too as they build friendships and peer support.

We hold a number of events, including:

- Artful Dodgers: art sessions with our resident artist Enisa - every Friday, 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Liverpool Road Community Hall, Skelmersdale. £5 per session contribution towards costs

- Communication Group: a chance to learn or maintain your key word signing (Makaton/Signalong) and for those with hi-tech devices it's a chance to share expertise and develop skills - first Wednesday of the month, 2pm to 4pm at the Older Peoples Club, Lord St, Burscough. £1 per session towards refreshments and prizes

- Regular meet-ups for walks and trips to pubs or cafes

No referral required, however we ask that you phone or email to book in and to make sure a place is available.

Additional information - each person attends with their staff.

West Lancashire Council for Voluntary Services is a charity, set up in 1973, and is the key infrastructure organisation for voluntary and community groups in West Lancashire.

We help local people set up and develop voluntary and community groups, and network with other organisations.

We recruit volunteers for local organisations and support people to volunteer through our accredited Volunteer Centre. Find out more here.
