Up Holland Community Hub

About

Up Holland Community Hub is modern venue for the wider community, based in St Thomas the Martyr Parish Church, Up Holland. The historic church building is being developed into a place to serve and be used by the whole community and the development group included people from church, parish council and community.

A number of key developments are up and running including:

> The Post Office is now fully open. It has been a tremendous success to date, seeing over eight times the predicted number of customers than when first planned.

> Becket's Cafe is also now fully open, serving high quality coffee and tea, lovely cakes and a selection of food. We also run a weekly Community Lunches on Tuesday and Friday.

> The Foodbank is fully operational and based at St Thomas The Martyr Primary School, as it is in the heart of our village, and where the most help is needed. The Church also serves as a food bank collection point.

There are also many other activities both happening and planned, including:

• Cinema @ The Hub
• Concerts and performances
• Free food Cafe @ The Hub
• Arts and crafts groups
• Music groups
• Language Group
• Book Club
• Community Gardeners
• Bereavement Group

West Lancashire Council for Voluntary Services is a charity, set up in 1973, and is the key infrastructure organisation for voluntary and community groups in West Lancashire.

We help local people set up and develop voluntary and community groups, and network with other organisations.

We recruit volunteers for local organisations and support people to volunteer through our accredited Volunteer Centre. Find out more here.
